Fall weekends fill up quickly around Liberty, South Carolina—and this year, there are plenty of good reasons to get out of the house. From live theater right here in town to farm adventures, food festivals, and football nearby, you don’t have to plan a big trip to enjoy the season.
At Wheelin & Dealin Motors, we love sharing what’s happening around our community. Here are some upcoming events to put on your calendar this October and November.
Looking for a date-night idea that doesn’t require driving into Greenville? The Pickens County Performing Arts Center is presenting The Great Gatsby, with evening performances on October 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and afternoon performances on October 10 and 11 at 3 p.m.
Make an evening of it with dinner before the show, or choose a matinee and leave the rest of your Saturday or Sunday open. It’s a great excuse to enjoy live theater while supporting a venue here in Liberty.
You don’t need dance experience to enjoy this one. Steppin’ In Pickens brings together a live band, a caller, square dancing, and line dancing for a free community evening.
The organizers say no partner or experience is needed for the line dancing, and square-dance instruction begins around 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be available, too. Bring a friend, learn a few steps, and give your usual Friday-night routine a change of pace.
If your ideal weekend involves trying different foods and listening to live music, Fall for Greenville belongs on your list. The festival’s 2026 lineup features more than 60 restaurants, hundreds of menu items, and music across seven stages.
Festival admission is free, with food and beverages purchased separately. It’s an easy outing to build around your interests: browse the menus, pick a few performances, and give yourself time to wander. There’s also a Thursday-night kickoff concert on October 8.
For something that feels especially fitting for October, Hagood Mill is hosting its 25th Annual Storytelling Festival and Liar’s Competition.
Friday’s ghost-story program begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by more storytelling, folklore, and tall tales on Saturday. If you enjoy a good storyteller—or want an outing that’s a little different from the usual pumpkin patch—this is worth a look.
Admission varies by program, so check the event details before choosing your tickets.
Pumpkins, a corn maze, farm animals, and room for the kids to play: Denver Downs offers plenty of classic fall fun in one stop. The farm lists more than 35 activities, along with weekend entertainment, seasonal food, and bonfires.
This is a good option when you want to turn an outing into a full afternoon or evening. Choose your date before heading out, since opening hours vary and outdoor activities can be affected by weather.
